Monday at the Sherwood Oregon Parks & Rec Board meeting there was considerable Dog Park discussion. During discussions for improvements at Woodhaven Park. Councilman Butterfield said that he had been approached by several citizens and asked about a Sherwood Dog Park. The PRB decided that a Dog Park should be added to the to-list.

A meeting open to public comment will be held June 6 at 7pm,  Sherwood City Hall.  If you would like share your support for a dog park with the City Council please join the Sherwood Dog Park Committy.

Vote Yes on Measure 34-181 to help support Tigard Dog Parks

On November 2nd, Tigard voters  will be asked to approve Ballot Measure 34-181 The Tigard Park Bond. The measure will allow the City of Tigard to purchase land for parks and open spaces as well as make improvements to parks.

This measure is important to dog owners!  The ballot measure will allow the city to purchase land and develop  acres of new parks.  One of the tracts of land the city is hoping to purchase is the Potso Dog Park.  The land is currently being leased,  by the city, and has been foreclosed on.  If the bank sells the land to someone else, this off leash play area could close.   The city is currently in negotiations with the bank to purchase this land if the ballot measure passes.

BEND, Ore. – The Forest Access is a Right & Responsibility (FAIR) campaign was launched to help citizens access quality off-leash recreation opportunities on the Deschutes National Forest.

 We believe it is possible for skilled land managers to provide quality opportunities for all recreationists, while sustaining our public lands. Because recreation is so important to dog owners and many others, we encourage citizens to learn more about access issues. FAIR is sponsored by DogPAC, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the health and enjoyment of dogs and their guardians through the provision of off-leash recreation opportunities in Central Oregon. DogPAC has collaborated successfully with the Bend Park and Recreation District to expand opportunities in local parks.
