Everyday Dog

When Alison Eberhand was a small child, a stray dog wandered into her yard.  Naturally, Alison and her siblings wanted to keep the dog, but Alison’s Dad threatened to give him away unless he was trained to have some manners.  “He was the worst dog ever,” said Alison, whose mother immediately enrolled her in an obedience class where they lived in Chino, CA.  Fortunately, her mother was an experienced obedience trials competitor, so she encouraged the training of “Gus” (initially referred to as “Benji”), when Alison was only seven years old.  Thus began Alison’s dog training career, and she has been training ever since.

The Multnomah County Fair will fearture a FREE dog training workshop all three days, May 29-31, at 6pm.  Everyone is invited to bring their dog and take part in the workshop.

The workshop will be conducted by Tim McLean of Portland Dog Xperts. Portland Dog Xperts don’t just train dogs – they empower dog lovers! Dog training is an important aspect of dog ownership. Training is critical when it come to nurturing a healthy human-animal relationship and creating a socially acceptable pet. Proper training is about making a bond between you and your dog that allows them to want to follow you. After meeting for the initial consultation you’ll be given a treatment plan will which will discuss in depth how to address your dogs situation and achieve the goals you would like to meet. Should you decide to take additional lessons the initial consultation fee is rolled into the next visit, making the initial consult free. Also, any families who adopted their dog from a shelter, rescue or foster agency get 50% off the rates for visits after the initial consultation.
