this is gross and shouldn’t be fed to a dog it just shows you should look at the ingredients in your dogs food
Ol’ Roy tops that one! There are some pretty appalling dog foods on the market.
Ingredients:
Ground yellow corn, soybean meal, ground whole wheat, corn syrup, poultry fat, Meat and bone meal (Animal Fat Preserved with BHA and Citric Acid), Chicken by-product Meal, Rice, Animal Digest, Salt, Calcium Carbonate, Potassium Chloride, Choline Chloride, Ferrous Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Vitamin D and E Supplement, Niacin, Copper Sulafate, Manganous Oxide, Vitamin A Supplement, Calcium Pantothenate, Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Thiamine Mononitrate, Meadione Sodium Bisulfite Complex Source of Vitamin K, Calcium Iodate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Riboflavin Supplement, Cobalt Carbonate, Folic Acid, Sodium Selenite, Folic Acid
Nope, Science Diet first ingredients are not even meat or meat meal, just corn as are many other grocery store brands…ICKY..BTW, meat can be anything, not just beef but any meat or meat type of stuff…
Nope. Some idiot once told me he fed his dogs nothing but rice and beans and his vet claimed they were the healthiest dogs he ever saw.
The kid was obviously LYING. He wanted everybody to think he was so clever for coming up with a unique diet for his dogs, so he added that part about the vet in at the end.
Thinking about feeding your dog Ol’ Roy dog food? If so please think again. Ol’ Roy dog food is probably the worst dog food on the market right now. I wouldn’t feed Ol’ Roy dog food to my worst enemies dog. Ol’ Roy dog food and treats have been involved in numerous dog food recalls.
First five Ol’ Roy dog food Ingredients:
Ground yellow corn
soybean meal
ground whole wheat
corn syrup
poultry fat
I have looked at the first five ingredients of a lot of dog food brands and I have come to the conclusion that this is the worst first five ingredients I have ever seen. First of the first ingredients of Ol’ Roy dog food in CORN. Corn is pretty much useless as far as a nutrition stand point. Corn does your dog absolutely no good. If that wasn’t bad enough lets go head and through some grains in the first five AND THEN lets through sugar in the first five. Who puts sugar in the first five ingredients of dog food? Are you kidding me?
A lot of people decide to buy Ol Roy dog food based on the fact that it is cheap. Thinking like this will catch up to you in vet bills. Your going to take your dog to the vet twice as much as you would if you fed your dog a healthier brand of food.
When looking for dog food, look for a brand that has at least two sources of meat in the first five ingredients, and contains no corn or grains.
Yes. Beneful, ol roy, pedigree, science diet, and the gravy train all top that!

Full of corn, byproducts, dead animals, and animal poop. YUMMY!
Holy CRAP that is bad food!
But I think Beneful Healthy Harvest is the worst.. there is NO meat.
“Meat” may be the first word… but not the first ingredient!!! *gag*
I found that when I fed my dogs any of the store brand dog foods, they had allergic dermatitis every summer, and the Pointer stayed too thin and the Chocolate Lab got too fat if I fed them ad libitum.
I switched them to Iams Puppy Food when my Chocolate Lab was pregnant. WOW! No allergic dermatitis, and both dogs stayed at a reasonable weight.
I now feed Diamond Naturals Lamb Meal and Rice. My Black Lab (granddaughter of the Chocolate) and Dachshund look & feel great, & my vets say they are in great shape. (HONEST!)
“oh my god, your poor dog, honey.” You are feeding your dog , dog food that lists it’s first ingredients as grains. Plus all those dyes and animal fat. This also means this dog food has boiled down animals in it, like cats and dogs that have been euthanized , and god know what.
You are setting your animal up for a short life span sweetheart.
Please stop buying this crap. For your dogs health , invest in a premium dog food that has no dyes, no by products (cat, dogs, chicken feet, etc) and list Beef, chicken, Fish as the very first ingredient. Try to stay away from wheat which can cause food allergies. Dogs are carnivores, they need meat. They are not chicken, that eat grain . Holistic dog foods are the best . These dog food also have wonderful fats and oil that are good for your dogs like fish oil and lineoulic acid. Eagle Pack, Authority, Blue, Bil Jac, Mother Hubbard, In the Wild, are wonderful foods. They are more expensive but you feed them less and they have less bowel movement because this good food is highly digestible. It also have beets, carrots, and yams and such. Everything your dog needs and deserves. Even Iams and Science diet were on the recall list. Premium food and grooming and a wonderful loving attitude toward your dog , and exercise = a healthy dog
I’m sure mine’s worse [wait until my pay's bumped up and I can personally afford to switch every one of our dogs' foods. It'll be *way* better.]::
INGREDIENTS
Corn, Meat & Bone Meal, Chicken By-Product Meal, Corn Gluten Meal, Animal Fat (Preserved with BHA), Rice, Flaxseed, Oatmeal (Source of Soluble Oat Fiber), Poultry Digest, Beet Pulp, Salt, Dicalcium Phosphate, Calcium Carbonate, Iron Oxide, Vitamin E Supplement, Choline Chloride, Zinc Sulfate, Ferrous Sulfate, L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate (Source of Vitamin C), Niacin, Manganese Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, d-Calcium Pantothenate, Biotin, Sodium Selenite, Vitamin A Supplement, Riboflavin Supplement, Thiamine Mononitrate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Menadione Dimethylpyrimidinol BisulfIte (Source of Vitamin K Activity), Vitamin B12 Supplement, Potassium Iodide, Cobalt Sulfate, Folic Acid.
I’d say this is worse:
corn, soybean meal, beef and bone meal, ground wheat flour, animal fat (bha used as preservative), corn syrup, wheat middlings, water sufficient for processing, animal digest (source of chicken flavor), propylene glycol, salt, hydrochloric acid, potassium chloride, caramel color, sorbic acid (used as a preservative), sodium carbonate, minerals (ferrous sulfate, zinc oxide, manganous oxide, copper sulfate, calcium iodate, sodium selenite), choline chloride, vitamins (vitamin E supplement, vitamin A supplement, niacin supplement, D-calcium pantothenate, riboflavin supplement, pyridoxine hydrochloride, thiamine mononitrate, vitamin D3 supplement, folic acid, biotin, vitamin B12 supplement), calcium sulfate, titanium dioxide, yellow 5, yellow 6, red 40, BHA (used as a preservative), dl methionine.
This food is worse than what was being swept off of 1930′s meat packing plants’ floors. Does anyone even know what half of those ingredients are?
ADD: Those ingredients are for Kibbles N Bits, and I was looking at their recommended feeding amount. If my dogs were eating this food, they’d literally have to eat TWICE as much as they eat now.
