what could be wrong with our beagle?

Question by shyanne: what could be wrong with our beagle?
my bf’s son has a beagle puppy.(about 1 yr.old) he doesn’t do a very good job of taking care of him. leaves him out on the run in all kinds of weather all day, feeds him about once a day, gives him “people food” often when he does feed him. i have tried to give suggestions and don’t like the situation at all, but they think i’m wrong.
anyhow, usually a VERY active dog – when he comes in the house he bolts around like a maniac, etc.
today, he… Continue reading

Help with obese Minpin?

Question by neurotokzic: Help with obese Minpin?
I own a brown min pin, who weighs 20 pounds now. She’s been chubby ever since i got her, and i’ve been trying to get her to loose weight within the past few months.

My parents often forget the “no scrap food” deal, but when they give it to the cat instead, she ends up taking it away from it.

She goes on 1 hour walks at least once a week, and i feed her about teacup worth of wet/dry dog food a… Continue reading

Question by Rheasie.!(:: Jack Russell Terriers? Any Breeders or Owners with experience?
I own a 3yr. old Jack Russell Terrier (A.K.A Parson Jack Russell Terrier, Parson Russell Terrier).

My dog has been on the same type of food, BENEFUL. He gets enough food and exercise.

But, he had “Hot Spots.” Red spots underneath of his hind legs.
We used a spray “Cool Skin.” That worked. But, they keep comeing back if I forget to put the spray on. It doesn’t seem to bother him much. So we changed his food to a more heathier food recomended by a feed store… Continue reading

Question by Spoo: Is it possible for me to become an architect if I have no friends, no social life and no social skills?
I’m 21 and I’ve never had a job other than a paper route and I haven’t had friends in years. I rarely see anyone all day, every day, other than my family and my dog. I have social anxiety disorder. I want to hurry up and get a job so I can become independent and go to college eventually.

I hardly speak on at all on… Continue reading

Question on our first Chihuahua -?

Question by BP: Question on our first Chihuahua -?
We adopted a short hair female Chihuahua pup last summer. At that time the prior owner said she was about 8-9 months, so if thats correct she would be about a year & 1/2 now or slightly younger. We had her spayed about 4 months ago. She was very tiny and skinny when we got her, and of course still a puppy. Since her surgery (could just be a coincidence, and nothing to do with the spaying, not sure) she… Continue reading

My 9 year old ShetlandSheepdog is not eating?

Question by Brianna: My 9 year old ShetlandSheepdog is not eating?
For a couple weeks now, my Sheltie, Missy, hasn’t been eating her food that much. She gets fed “Purina ONE” twice a day and she doesn’t eat it much at all. Most of the times we “serve” it to her dry, but sometimes we’ll add hot water and mix it so that its moist. She seems to like it moist better but she still doesn’t eat it. Sometimes she’ll eat SOME of it but she never finishes it. It’s… Continue reading

Wallabies as pets? Does anyone here own a pet wallaby?

Question by Longoose: Wallabies as pets? Does anyone here own a pet wallaby?
I was quite surprised when I heard about people keeping miniature kangaroos as pets. I visited the websites of a couple of breeders to gain information, and learned that wallabies are supposed to be extremely docile and cuddly, but, being skeptical, I decided to turn to the masses to answer my questions.

1. How long have wallabies been “domesticated”?
2. What is the general temperament of a wallaby?
3. How much room do they need? (Soem breeders say they do well in houses, some say they need an outdoor… Continue reading

Basset Hound suddenly Aggressive?

Question by minami: Basset Hound suddenly Aggressive?
We have a 4 year old male (neutered) has recently become aggressive. He also lives with a 1 year old female basset whom he gets along with. He has always been sneaky with stealing food but he has developed a habit of begging. When he doesn’t get people food he will growl and get “mouthy”. There have been some instances when if you try to take the food away from him, he has growled and snapped at the person taking the food. He hasn’t… Continue reading

Ducklings as pets? Are pet cats a threat?

Question by OoglePoogle: Ducklings as pets? Are pet cats a threat?
I’m thinking about getting a duckling as a pet. Shelter, food, attention etc wouldn’t be a problem but the one thing I’m worried about is my dog and cat. I couldn’t bare having my duckling torn to shreds by my other animals. My dog is normally very docile, she is really a very gentle and sweet little pup. She has been known to “snap” however this is rare. My cat is just like any cat, chases after birds, mice, etc. I do have fish with an open tank… Continue reading
