The Tampa Bay Barkaneers Sea Dog Racing Team. We ran 6 dogs on the team, our Height Dog Gidget the Min Pin, Crush the BC, Aussies Kosh and Whiskey, Harley the Vizsla and Hennessy the APBT. Hennessy had his first time under 5 seconds, and Whiskey had his fastest time ever 5.6. Gidget got her Flyball Master. Harley our newest team member got her FDCH-S.

This year, the ASPCA participated in raids and animal cruelty investigations across the country. In one “sanctuary” alone, a hoarder kept more than 400 sick and suffering animals in deplorable conditions. Unfortunately, the ASPCA witnesses the terrible impact of animal cruelty every day–but in 2009, the organization was able to improve the lives of more than 63000 animals. Federal Dog Fighting Raid- July 2009

In connection with what is believed to be the largest dog fighting raid in US history, the Humane Society of Missouri, working in cooperation with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the United States Department of Agricultures Office of the Inspector General, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the US Marshals Service and the United States Attorney, coordinated the rescue and sheltering of dogs associated with multiple suspected organized dog fighting operations.
