September 11, 2010 is Dog Appreciation Day at the Oregon City Haggen Food & Pharmacy. Haggen Food and Pharmacy has teamed up with Friends Involved in Dog Outreach (F.I.D.O) and FidosCityGuide.com for a day of doggie fun and adventure.

The event will feature a Pet Food Drive for AniMeals and the Dog Food Bank,  doggie contests with great prizes, Low Cost Rabies Vaccinations and Microchipping, and fun games for kids and dogs.  Visit with trainers, groomers, pet psychics, and don’t forget to let your dog try out the yummy treats.

Come meet adoptable animals, get your dog washed at the F.I.D.O dog wash, and find out how the Clackamas County Fire Department could save your dogs life with pet resuscitation.

Fast Food Car Wash for the Dogs
National Restaurant Chain promotes fundraising to help Greenhill Humane Society.

Jack in the Box restaurants, has just announced plans for all five Springfield and Eugene restaurants to hold a day long carwash on Saturday August 7, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

The restaurants are located at W6th, Commerce Street and Hutton Street in Eugene, Main and Pioneer Parkway in Springfield. Price for the car wash is on a donation basis.

The car wash serves as a fun event for Jack in the Box employees with all proceeds going to Greenhill Humane Society.

We encourage everyone to come out and let Jack in the Box wash your car on Saturday August 7. It goes to a good cause.

Josephine  Cetta stood in the rain,  an umbrella in one hand a cup of coffee in the other, watching her dogs, Alley and Tucker play in the mud.  “There has to be a better  dog park”  she sighed.

WOU Pool Goes to the Dogs

If you have a high energy, water loving dog that deserves a special treat, this is the event for you!  Western Oregon University Pool is holding  it’s Fifth annual Dogs Day of Summer on August 21.  This event is held every year just before the pool closes for  maintenance, and celebrates a dogs love of the water.

Dogs are invited to come play in the pool, to splash, swim and enjoy the water.  Vendors such as Loving Paws Pets and Granny’s  K9 Design, will be available of dogs and owners to visit with.  A swim in the pool followed by one of Granny’s Sweet Potato Chewies, and a long nap in the sun, what more could a water loving dog ask for.

There was a great turnout last year and this year is expected to be even better.  Lots of dogs and lots of fun.   …Read More….

Pinot Pageantry
Any of you that know me know I’d never miss a Lexi Dog,  Waggy Hour. There’s nothing more fun than hanging out with all the other dogs at the Jupiter Hotel.    There is always lots of great food,  treats,  and for the humans that don’t have a dog, the Oregon Humane Society brings some cute dogs that are looking for new homes.

Always  a great event, but  the Waggy Hour on August 25th will be really special.  Pinot Pageantry will be  happening.  Dogs will compete for the title of Mr/Miss Waggy Hour.  Showing off their natural beauty and best trick or talent , dogs will compete for fabulous prizes.   Are you a contender for the crown?  There’s only one way to find out.  Have your human give you a good brushing, polish up your best trick,  fill out the application and join in the fun. ....Read More….
