Take a look at us! We are some of the lucky dogs and cats from the Oregon Humane Society that will get a chance to find our forever home at the Northwest Pet & Companion Fair.
Chico is a sweet 13-year-old Chihuahua mix in need of a loving home. His previous owners had to move and could not take him along, but they had nothing but good things to say about him. He loves to cuddle and sleep with his owners, but also loves going for walks. Chico has lived with another dog, but does not like to play–he would prefer to just hang out. This mellow boy will be happiest in a quiet home with older children where he can feel comfortable.
Pepper is a wonderful 11-year-old Australian Shepherd mix who always greets his people with a tail wag and a smile! He originally came to OHS after working on a farm, where he spent most of his time outdoors. More recently, Pepper was returned because he doesn’t like to be away from his people and has exhibited destructive behavior when left alone. Pepper has a wonderful history with other dogs, cats, and visiting children. He does escape the yard – so outside time must be supervised to ensure he doesn’t wander off to explore his new neighborhood!
Loki a 9-year-old lab mix, is a gentle giant. He is overweight and will need a good low fat diet and exercise to make him feel his best. He loves people and is very outgoing and social. He has had some training and knows his commands very well. He will need a home that can give him the attention he deserves and help him with his weight. He is a great guy and will make a great companion.
Hello! I’m Blaze - one of the 43 dogs who came to OHS from a Breeder – and I am now in search of a new loving home. I am an 11-year-old Rat Terrier who is quite outgoing and am looking for someone who can teach me how to become an indoor companion. I have not yet been potty trained or leash trained, nor have I ever worn a collar; but with positive reinforcement and some good treats for motivation, hopefully I will learn the ropes. I am not used to a normal dog life so I should stay on a harness/leash when outdoors, as I might startle easily in new situations. My ideal home would be with someone who will be patient with me as I have a lot to learn – but that patience will pay off in unconditional love!
Huck is a 3-year-old hound mix. He is a loving happy hound mix looking for an active home. He is wonderfully sweet and loves to get pets. He would do best in a home with some type of hound experience as he is very vocal and whines when bored. Huck would enjoy going for daily walks and running around the backyard for hours. He might chase a squirrel or two in his spare time, but nothing would make him happier. Huck would make a wonderful companion to an active family and would enjoy going on summer hikes and learning tricks. He would benefit from positively training as the only command he is comfortable with is “sit”. Huck came to us through the Second Chance Program, so no prior history is known about him.
Meet K-Boo! This big handsome 11-year-old Red Tabby is looking for a new home and some wonderful people to be his forever family!
He is sociable, friendly, and playful for an older kitty. He does have an independent side, and would probably do best in a home with older children. Other animals cause this mild-mannered fellow stress, so he should probably be an only pet. K-Boo is declawed, so he must be and indoors only cat. Visit K-Boo today and help him find his forever home!
If we get really really lucky and find our forever homes before the Pet Fair we have some of our friends from Oregon Humane Society there. There are lots of us looking for forever homes. See you at the show!
