“Radio Extravaganza” Offers Rockin’ Good Times, Tunes & Help for Homeless Pets
(Salem, OR) — On Saturday, June 11, Willamette Humane Society (WHS) will hold its first Radiothon to raise money for shelter pets. The “Radio Extravaganza,” presented by Fred Meyer, will feature Salem’s KBZY 1490 AM broadcasting live from the shelter from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Plenty of fun activities will also be offered to shelter visitors, including contests, food vendors, special discounts on pet supplies, and even pet psychic readings.
The community is encouraged to tune in to KBZY or visit the shelter during the Radiothon. The on-air program will highlight donor and alumni stories and adoptable pets. Shelter visitors can enjoy contests, games, and food vendors, including free ice cream courtesy of Umpqua Bank. Visitors can even purchase a psychic reading for their pet with pet communicator Faye Pietrokowsky. The shelter will open at 11 a.m. (one hour earlier than usual) on June 11 in honor of the Radiothon.
